Artist's Comments

this is an old idea, and finally I drew it the way I imagined it.
as the title says, it represents the first contact between one of us and one of them... nothing scary, no insect-like aliens or invaders from the space, just a little grey creature who's curious to see our world, and a little girl, innocent and free from all the prejudices grown up people have, they meet in a wood. no words needed, just a little gesture, touching hands, and a contact is established.

-First Contact- by *aryundomiel
The suggester says: Simple yet sophisticated, cute yet solid... ...
This is how a possible first contact should look like! A child, free from any prejudices and completely innocent, meeting a curious alien from outer space who just wants to learn from other life forms and experience new worlds. (Suggested by =JoeJesus and Featured by ^gucken)

I like the feeling in this drawing. Even though the idea is age-old, you've executed it well.
As said, lighting looks very nice, and is propably the best part of this work. Characters' feet could do with a little bit of improvement, though. Now it seems like they would be standing on one leg. Just a hint of farther leg being visible behind the former could do it, I think.
Good job, still :)

This is so beautiful. It's very peaceful. I love the way you've drawn the light.

Though it seems to me that the girl needs another leg. Even a sliver of a shadow behind the first one. With her legs perfectly aligned like that she looks almost flamingo-like.

It's really very beautiful.

"Isn't it a fantastic day? Birds singing, squirrels making lots of rotten little squirrels, sun beaming down in a nice non-fatal way. It's very exciting. Can't wait to see if I freckle."
